London Street

This series was the first I ever made in the "street photography" genre, for want of a better term. I instantly found the experience an exhilarating one. Day after day I would range through the London streets (all over the city) at an almost breakneck pace. Just carrying a couple of tiny mirrorless compacts and 2 or 3 lenses I would shoot quite haphazardly, almost absent-mindedly. Virtually everything I saw seemed a suitable subject to record and I shot intuitively and virtually on the run, as it were. Since then I have found it difficult to recapture the sheer energy and excitement of that original experience. But that's the way life is. One can never really go back to the beginning.
